A parasitic infection outbreak in Michigan has grown to over 1,000 cases, with nearly 1,000 people diagnosed. The infection causes weeks of watery diarrhea, but no deaths have been reported.

The source of the cyclospora infections remains unidentified. Michigan officials initially announced the outbreak with over 170 cases, which has since surged to 992, including about 40 hospitalizations.
